XLC 500 Toe In - Wheel Alignment

Postby Hat751 » Mon Apr 30, 2018 9:52 pm

Hi, I've just bought a 2017 XLC 500 and wanted to know what the toe in/out should be and how to check the wheel alignment?
Any help is greatly accepted :icon_thumleft:

Thanks. Its not in the owners handbook. I phoned Quadzilla Technical department and they said I was the first person to ask the question and they didn't know :y13:

I’ve always set mine to zero. But some people add there own toe and toe out adjustment to improve the handling

Should be toed in around 5-10mm. Pretty standard in sports quads. And set it with front end raised and bars tied/locked straight. When you lower the bike that will counter some of the toe. Hence never set them neutral as when you drop the front end you have toe out and a poorly handling bike

Not necessarily problems with minor toe out (which it would be if you set them straight with front raised) but very slight toe in gives better response to steering input as it puts slight preloaded tension on the tire sidewalls ready to turn. Also less rolling resistance :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like a bit of experimentation in the coming weeks :icon_thumleft:

Get your wheels dead straight & do a quarter turn each side toe in & remeasure. Take it for a ride see if it feels alright. If not do some slight adjustments till it does.
